At the 2024 Emmy Awards, “Hacks” and “Shōgun” were the standout winners, celebrating major victories in television.

FX’s “The Bear” garnered a record-setting 23 nominations for a comedy series and won in categories including best lead actor and best supporting actor and actress. Despite this, HBO’s “Hacks” took home the award for best comedy series.

“Shōgun” led the nominations with 25 and clinched major accolades, including best drama series. Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai won best actor and actress in a drama series, respectively. The show’s success also included 18 Emmys in total, the most ever for a single season.

The ceremony, hosted by Dan and Eugene Levy of “Schitt’s Creek,” was broadcast live from Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater. This event was the second Emmy ceremony of 2024, following the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards in January, which had been delayed due to the strikes.
