Jon Bon Jovi came to the rescue of a woman on a pedestrian bridge in Nashville on Tuesday night, according to local police, with the incident captured on video.

The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department shared on social media that Bon Jovi and his crew assisted a woman on the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. They praised the musician for helping to convince her to step back from the edge over the Cumberland River and return to safety.

Bon Jovi, known for hits like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Wanted Dead or Alive,” was on the bridge filming a music video when he noticed the woman clinging to the railing. According to sources, he and his film crew approached her calmly. After a brief interaction, Bon Jovi and a colleague managed to pull her back to safety.

The security camera footage from the scene, initially shared by police, showed the dramatic rescue. Though it was later removed from YouTube, portions of it were covered by local news outlets.

In addition to his music career, Bon Jovi is known for his philanthropic work through the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, which focuses on addressing issues related to poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

With over 120 million albums sold and more than 2,600 concerts performed globally, Bon Jovi’s band continues to be a major force in the music industry. They released their 16th studio album, “Forever,” earlier this year.
