Tito Jackson, a key member of the iconic Jackson 5 and brother to Michael Jackson, has passed away at the age of 70, according to his sons.

As the third of nine siblings in the Jackson family, Tito was part of a musical dynasty that includes global stars Michael and Janet. His sons, TJ, Taj, and Taryll, shared their grief in a heartfelt statement on social media, expressing their sorrow and admiration for their father, who they described as a deeply caring and remarkable man.

Reports indicate that Tito Jackson died suddenly, with speculation that he may have suffered a heart attack while traveling. The cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

The Jackson 5, which also featured Tito’s brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael, rose to fame with hits like “ABC,” “I Want You Back,” and “I’ll Be There” in the 1970s. The group was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Under their father Joe Jackson’s guidance, the family achieved major success before relocating from Gary, Indiana, to California to further their music careers.

Born Toriano Adaryll Jackson on October 15, 1953, Tito was primarily known as a guitarist and background singer within the group. While his brothers, especially Michael, pursued solo careers with great success, Tito remained dedicated to his family and music.

Following Michael Jackson’s death in 2009, Tito spoke about how the loss brought the family closer together, though he admitted the pain of losing his brother never fully faded.

In recent years, Tito Jackson continued to honor his brother’s legacy while also working on his own music. He released his debut solo album, “Tito Time,” in 2016, followed by a single in 2017. His focus on his family, including his three sons who formed the group 3T, was a significant part of his life.

Tito Jackson is survived by his brothers Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, and Jackie, his sisters Janet, Rebbie, and LaToya, as well as his mother Katherine. His father Joe passed away in 2018.
